When my 60GB iPod Photo died without apparent cause and beyond its warranty coverage, I expected that getting it fixed would be an expensive and difficult undertaking. Even an Apple sales representative at a local Berlin store recommended against it. So I was surprised and pleased to find PORTATRONICS.DE. I was a bit skeptical about using a 3rd party service, frankly. But the Portatronics.de staff readily answered my phone call and spoke to me (in English!) about the assessment process, the potential repair costs and shipping fees. I was won over! I shipped off my iPod, they acknowledged receipt, shortly thereafter they provided a quote and, after I agreed, provided status reports and the bill so that I could simply pay via the German bank-to-bank transfer. And when Deutsche Post managed to mangle the return delivery, they took care of everything (including assuring me that the shipment was insured in case of loss). I\'ve had my iPod back for a number of weeks now, and it\'s working like new. (Good work, guys!) For all these reasons, I heartily recommend Portatronics.de
